We’re not even half way through February and we have already celebrated a grand opening of the new first floor toilets – with special guest Savannah from Faithstar, we’ve completed our first volunteer receptionist training day, met with representatives from Westminster Central Hall and a team of specialist Conservation architects to discuss renovation, repair and renewal in the main hall

It’s an ‘out with the old, in with the new’ sort of start to our 2020. With two new toilet blocks underway and two refurbished meeting rooms complete, with funding from Veolia, we are feeling a new year new us vibe!

After the excitement of our busiest events season, we are really pleased to welcome back our ‘day job’ partner organisations, charities and organisations that make a real difference to the lives of those living in and around Sheffield, by offering activities and support all within the walls of The Victoria Hall Sheffield.

The Autumn and Winter Season 2019 at Victoria Hall has been one of the most exciting yet – with a diversity of bookings in the main hall, from conferences, meetings, and a number of full house concerts during December – with consistant re-booking rates from new as well as regular customers.

Places of Worship: Inspiring Ideas – City Centre Events Space Project, from the Heritage Fund

The Foundry Sheffield is delighted to have been awarded a grant, in partnership with Westminster Central Hall and Priory Place, Doncaster, to test innovative ideas in support of the management of, and funding of historic places of worship so as to help them become financially resilient so they are safeguarded for future generations.

This fund was extremely competitive with only 5 grants approved across the country, so we are delighted and grateful to the Heritage Fund for their support..

Just a few words from some of our happy customers in 2019

“Lovely building, great location and above all a thoroughly professional and engaging team running it”.
Martin Pratt, CEO ACAMH. May 2019

“I just wanted to say thank you again for the splendid way that you looked after us yesterday. You could not have been more flexible or made things any easier for us. Every time I spoke to you my stress levels lowered and I knew all would be well! Please could you also pass on our thanks to Brian and the team who worked so hard to make things run so smoothly. Everything went so well and that was due in no small part to the efforts that you all had made on our behalf. It was really appreciated by us and by all those who came to the event”
Megan Archer, Vice CEO ACAMH. May 2019.

“The venue was ideal. It proved adaptable to the size of audience we expected so that it felt welcoming and busy but not cramped. We had about 100 people in all and all the feedback was very positive. Thanks also for your flexibility in letting us check out last minute technical needs. All in all I’d highly recommend such a welcoming city centre venue. Good value too!”
Diane Tottle, SPRING Co-ordinator, VAS. May 2019

“Victoria Hall’s 1960s interior was a perfect setting. The staff could not have been more helpful, from our first visit to look at the venue to the actual event itself. It provided us with a fully accessible, city-centre base for our event: a space where we could easily accommodate our registration desk, meeting points of walks and tours, an audience of 200 people for talks, a small marketplace of books, magazines and prints, a green room for speakers, and a social area for delegates. It was perfect and, importantly, it was very affordable for an event run on a shoestring by volunteers”.
Sue Cooke non-executive director of The Modernist CIC . January 2019
