Testimonial from a new events customer - The Hallam Sinfonia

In October 2020 the Hallam Sinfonia was really keen to get back to performing in front of a live audience, and when our usual venue wasn’t available because it wasn’t COVID-secure, we turned to Victoria Hall as we knew they had already hosted orchestra rehearsals since lockdown. When we approached them, however, we found they were exactly the right venue for us for many reasons.

Not only had they experience of working with orchestras, but they had clearly gone to great efforts to make the Hall COVID-secure for all kinds of purposes. Even better, from the first time we contacted them they were exceptionally helpful to us: doing whatever they could, within the rules, to enable us to be able to put on our concerts as we wanted. A site visit helped us plan everything carefully, we shared risk assessments, and they kept in touch very well. When it came to actually putting on the rehearsals and concerts, their key team of Rachel, Tom and Brian participated fully – taking responsibility for all the setting out and cleaning, and assisting us in various other ways. They worked very well with our stewarding team to ensure the audience management went smoothly too.

Overall, it was a delight to work with Victoria Hall from start to finish, and we certainly hope to return to do more concerts, safe in the knowledge that they will be COVID-secure and friendly!
