Spotlight on events …. first steps ….

Prime minister Boris Johnson has confirmed that conferences and exhibitions will be permitted in England from 1 October 2020.

Addressing the nation from Downing Street, 17 July, the prime minister said the decision would depend on data and that Local Authorities would have powers to close events if there was a danger to the public. The prime minister noted that there would be pilot events ahead of the reopening.

Victoria Hall - along with hundreds of events and conferencing venues welcome this statement whilst keeping the health and wellbeing of all hall users, and the staff team safe and well.

This is a post from our FaceBook page last Friday. One which may well be the first step to the return of customers to our Main Hall for events and conferences.

During lockdown we have worked hard to keep the building open for essential work, whilst remaining compliant to the advice of the day. We’ve spoken to our many events customers about their Autumn and Winter bookings, and are hearing a range of views about the possibility - even the probability of a return to social, and business gatherings. Using detailed risk assessments we can only walk steadily forward together to bring people back into our beautiful building safely to enjoy activities and concerts that have become our hallmark.
